# Time, peptides and aging

> Why Longevity Aminos waits for longer studies — Longevity Aminos is a personal interest in peptides, NAD+ and aging. Why the short experiments interest me, and why the larger claims can wait.

**About Longevity Aminos**

I’m curious about aging research at the scale where a molecule changes something—and at the much slower scale where a person might benefit.

## The name Longevity Aminos

Longevity is a wonderfully large word to attach to a tiny molecule. It suggests time gained, ability preserved and damage held back. Aminos points toward amino acids, the linked building blocks of peptides. Together the words invite a question I haven’t tired of: how far into a life has any particular result actually reached?

Longevity Aminos is a personal interest in published peptide and aging research, with NAD+ included because its energy and repair biology makes it part of the same conversation. NAD+ has a different chemical structure from the peptides. The shared interest in aging lets the subjects meet without giving them a shared treatment effect.

## The experiment I expected to like

I expected ipamorelin’s [clear hormone pulse](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10496658/) to be the most satisfying finding. Then the [meal-recovery trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25331030/) became harder to leave alone. It asked a plain question about people after surgery and missed its primary endpoint. That result gives the brief hormone response a different weight.

I get restless when the measurable event disappears beneath a much larger claim. I’m still curious after the disappointment. A better walking test, a skin-penetration experiment or an old mouse’s gait can each be interesting in its own right, with room left for another experiment and a different answer.

## Care and corrections

These pages offer no medical advice or personal treatment plan. Decisions about illness, medicines and symptoms need a licensed health professional who knows the person involved. No products or medical services are supplied through Longevity Aminos.

A wrong population, an omitted ingredient or an overstated outcome can change the entire meaning of a paper. Corrections belong at [editors@longevityaminos.com](/contact), along with the sentence and the publication at issue. I’d rather amend a conclusion than defend a satisfying story against its evidence. The [reading list](/references) contains the studies and reviews behind the discussion.
